Character Name: Nikkari Aoe
Series: Touken Ranbu
Canon Point: 2015, late September
Summary/History: The bulk of his history is here. That's pretty much the best I could find in English.
Fast forward to 2205 where a group of historical revisionists travel back in time to rewrite history to suit their own purposes. You, the player, are a saniwa sage (historically, a person who receives and interprets messages from the divine; in the context of Touken Ranbu, they're functionally a bit more like a wizard) who is sent back to 2015 to foil their plans. How would this be accomplished, you might ask?
Well you see, both sides have the ability to collect and give form to the spirits of swords, which are then sent farther back to either try to change certain events or to stop events from being changed. While the point that Nikkari is collected is individual to each player, for the purposes of this game we'll assume the Saniwa started when TouRabu opened in January, and Nikkari was given form late the same month. Since then, Nikkari has been fighting this war and doing other assorted tasks to help the cause an the Saniwa's orders.
Personality:

Like most of the other swords, Nikkari's past has profoundly effected him. Indeed, he wears it over his shoulder as a cape and as the smile upon his face. Unlike a number of the others, he does not let it weigh him down though. Nikkari knows that he's a tool created to cut whatever the one who wields him wishes, and accepts it without complaint. Rather than manifest as a violent streak though, he's actually a pretty easygoing sort that doesn't worry too much about most things. Battles are met with the intensity any life or death struggle merits, but he much prefers expeditions to gather supplies, even outright saying that he intends to have as much fun as he can when sent out on a supply run. There is so, so much of the world he hasn't been able to experience yet, and even old places can be experienced with a fresh set of eyes (in the most literal sense), so why focus on the bad things? He even calls resource collection "gathering souvenirs." Further adding to his easygoing ways is his speech pattern, which is very casual, and often has statements with the tone and phrasing of a question, generally in the form of adding the equivalent of "right?" or "you know?" to the ends of his sentences. Keep in mind that due to the nature of his canon the bulk of what he says is directed to the Saniwa, so he's just utterly dispensed with speaking formally even to the one that literally owns him.

The first thing that one is likely to notice about Nikkari is his smile. Not because it's a nice smile, but because he's just the sort of person who is never without one. As mentioned, while he is genuinely easygoing and friendly, the smile is also a reflection of the incident that gave him his name. The one presented to the world at large is a smile meant to reassure others and hope they don't judge him harshly on past events. The one seen in battle is the satisfaction of doing a task that he was created for; a darker smile for a darker task. Truly though, it is when he is not smiling that one should worry most, for it is then that he is most pained or angered. Don't assume he's not unhappy with someone if he is still smiling either, because some things - like not being considered a sacred sword - are still kind of sore spots that really shouldn't be poked even when he's the one that brings it up.

He's an unashamed flirt. Not the sort that does it with the expectation (or even much of any desire) to have anyone return the attention in the same way. No, his is more intended as something to amuse himself. Really, he wouldn't much know what to do with it if someone were to take him seriously. Certainly won't stop him from making very "wink wink, nudge nudge" sort of comments or lifting the capes of the other swords and whistling though.

Powers/Abilities:
Spectral interaction: As his history says, Nikkari is a sword capable of interacting with ghosts. Not only can he see and touch them, but canon and real world lore indicates that his very presence actively drives them away.
Nonhuman traits: As the spirit of a sword given form, Nikkari doesn't have quite the same physiological needs as a human would. Sure, he does get tired and require rest, but sleep is mostly just the most efficient way to relieve fatigue rather than a necessity. Food and drink are more a pleasure than anything else, although there are some energy benefits as an added bonus. The most different from humans, although the least obvious under most circumstances, is that he does not in fact have much of anything in the way of internal organs beyond a circulatory system. The most important difference however is that while he can heal far more quickly than a human would when a smith does repairs, he cannot heal on his own beyond scabbing up.
